How to Assemble this Colorful Fruit Board
This board is fun and easy to assemble. To build this board you will need a medium to large charcuterie board.
Start by cutting up all your ingredients. For the watermelon, citrus, and cantaloupe, but narrow slices to make it easy to pick up.
Lay the fruit on the board in groups. For the sliced fruit, lay it on in groups of 3-5 changing the angle to make it interesting. Fill in the rest of the areas on the board with the other fruit and top the whole thing with edible flowers (optional but does add a festive element).

General Tips for Creating and Serving a Summer Fruit Board
- Use a Variety of Colors
Choose fruits in a rainbow of colors—think strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, mango, watermelon, grapes, and pineapple—to make the board pop visually. - Pick Seasonal and Ripe Fruit
Summer fruits are best when they’re in season—juicy, sweet, and full of flavor. Visit a local farmer’s market for the freshest picks. - Cut Fruit into Fun Shapes
Use melon ballers or small cookie cutters to create fun shapes with melons and pineapple for added texture and interest. - Add a Creamy Dip or Spread
Include a fruit dip like honey-yogurt, whipped cream cheese with honey, or a citrus mascarpone dip for a sweet and creamy touch. - Balance Juicy with Dry
Mix in dried fruits like apricots, cranberries, or banana chips to balance the juiciness and add variety in texture. - Use Edible Garnishes
Sprinkle on fresh mint leaves or edible flowers to elevate presentation and add a fresh, fragrant element. - Serve Cold
Chill your fruit ahead of time and consider placing the board on a tray of ice if serving outdoors to keep things fresh. - Think About Layout
Arrange fruits in clusters or color gradients for a more artistic presentation. Use small bowls for dips or berries to create height and variety. - Include Toothpicks or Small Tongs
Make it easy for guests to serve themselves without handling everything—especially helpful for sticky or juicy fruits. - Add a Sweet Surprise
Toss in a few squares of dark chocolate, yogurt-covered pretzels, or candied nuts for an unexpected sweet bite.
