How to Serve a Mediterranean Charcuterie Board
A Mediterranean Charcuterie board feels like the definition of summer – my favorite place to enjoy this board is outside on our patio. This board can easily be made as a simple snack or as a complete meal.
What is Mezze
Mezze is a family style board with dips, spreads, fruits and vegetables, and small bowls of food. We often think of Mezze as an appetizer or snack, but like charcuterie boards, Mezze can also be served as the main meal. There is so many amazing Mediterranean foods that can be served as Mezze – think all the delicious foods like hummus, olives, tzatziki, and and fresh fruits and vegetables.
Mezze can be served in many different ways included as individual bowls or plates, or all on the charcuterie board.

When you are selecting the best ingredients for a Mediterranean Charcuterie Board, think about your favorite Mediterranean foods. For my board, I chose a selection of delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and cheese, hummus, and some crackers and other dips. Some of the most common foods to choose for a Mediterranean board include:
- Dips including – hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush
- Pita bread,/sliced bread

- Cheeses like feta, mozzarella, and other Mediterranean cheese
- Fresh and grilled vegetables and fruit
- Salads made from pickled or food served with herbs and oil
- Olives, artichokes, peppers and other pickled vegetables

You can also go a step further and make a Mediterranean dish to include on the charcuterie board. You can find a list of some great Mediterranean dishes here. How to Assemble a Mediterranean Charcuterie Board
Choose a medium to large board or platter (a small board works if you just want a small snacking board). Since a lot of the Mediterranean dips and food are best served in bowls, you will want a board that is big enough to hold everything. We used a rectangular board, but I’ve seen many examples of Mediterranean charcuterie boards on round boards.
Start by placing the ingredients and dips in bowls. Lay the bowls on the board. I like to place the bowls into groupings. Many of the best dips for this board can be purchased or made as home.
From here, ley out the rest of the ingredients in groups and rows covering the entire board. If you are serving this as a meal, you may also want to include a few separate bowls with bread or other Mediterranean dishes.
