How to Make a Small Apple Shaped Charcuterie Board

Fall is the perfect time for charcuterie boards and there are so many themes and delicious fall foods that it’s easy to get creative. I recently went on a little creative spree in the kitchen and made a few fall-themed boards like this small apple shaped charcuterie board. This board is perfect for a quick snack, pre-dinner appetizer, Halloween party or Thanksgiving appetizer.

Below you can see the ingredients I used for this apple shaped charcuterie board as well as how to put it together, but I encourage you to take this idea and get creative. You don’t need to stick to these ingredients (although cheddar, salami and apples do pair well together). You can find more ideas for this season in my Autumn Charcuterie Board Ideas article or check our our youtube channel for more ideas.

Ingredients for this Apple Shaped Charcuterie Board

As mentioned you can get creative with this board, but here is exactly what I used:

  • Cheddar cheese (cut into slices and cubed)
  • Salami
  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • 2 Apple tree leaves (could get away with many other leaves, just make sure you aren’t using something poisonous on your board!)

Other ingredients could include: various cheese, other fruit, nuts, prosciutto, carrots

How to Assemble this Board

Start by cutting your cheese and apples into slices and cubes.

Lay out your ingredients into the shape of an apple. I found this worked best with slices down the sides. There truly is no right or wrong way although I prefer groups of ingredients or lines of ingredients.

Tips for Making Your Apple-Shaped Charcuterie Board Stand Out

One of the best things about this apple-shaped board is how simple it is to make — but a few small details can really elevate the final look. Try using a mix of colors and textures to make your “apple” pop. For example, use red and green apple slices for contrast, or alternate between cubes of cheddar and slices of salami to create a fun striped effect.

If you’re serving this for a fall party, you can also add a touch of seasonal charm by placing your board on a wooden tray, sprinkling a few mini pumpkins or autumn leaves around it, or even tucking in a few sprigs of rosemary for a fresh, earthy aroma.

Want to make it even more festive? Add a small bowl of honey, fig jam, or caramel dip near the top “stem” of the apple for guests to enjoy. It’s an easy way to add a little sweetness and make your board both beautiful and delicious.
