Quick Facts for a Bagel and Lox Mini Board
Serves: 1-2
Prep time: 10 minutes
Board size: 6-8″ board or small wood round
Best for: Brunch, breakfast boards, Mother’s Day, bridal showers
Ingredients
- Mini bagel
- Smoked salmon
- Cream cheese
- Cucumber slices
- Red onion
- Capers

How to Assemble Your Mini Bagel and Lox Board
- Slice the mini bagel in half and place both halves on the board, cut-side up.
- Spread a generous layer of cream cheese over each bagel half.
- Drape smoked salmon over the cream cheese in soft folds for texture and height.
- Tuck cucumber slices and red onion around and on top of the salmon.
- Scatter capers over the top for a salty, briny finish.
- Fill any empty space on the board with extra cucumber slices or onion for color and balance.
Tips for the Perfect Mini Board
- Pat the smoked salmon dry before adding it so the board doesn’t get watery.
- Soak sliced red onion in cold water for 5 minutes to mellow the bite.
- Swap plain cream cheese for an herb or scallion variety for extra flavor.
- Make it ahead: assemble everything except the salmon up to a few hours in advance, then add the salmon right before serving.
- No mini bagel on hand? A bagel cut into quarters works just as well.
