I came across the fire pit charcuterie board recently and couldn’t get enough of this idea. There is something so appealing about melting cheese over an open fire and combining it with amazing charcuterie ingredients. This board uses two different types of cheese that can be put over the fire – either on a stick or in a cast iron pan. This is a fun appetizer for a cookout or when you’re camping.
Below I’ll share exactly what I used to make this board but you can easily substitute other ingredients/herbs.

What is Fire Pit Charcuterie Board?
A fire pit charcuterie board is a fun, campfire-inspired twist on the traditional grazing board. Instead of just meats and cheeses, this board brings together cozy flavors and ingredients that pair perfectly with an evening outdoors. Think melty cheeses you can warm by the fire, sweet fruits to balance the richness, and a few hearty extras that feel right at home beside the flames.
For this version, I created a board with everything you need to make “cheese s’mores”—a gooey, savory take on the classic campfire treat—plus some of my favorite snacks to enjoy fireside.
Ingredients for this Fire Pit Charcuterie Board
I made this board with ingredients to make ‘cheese smores’ and added a few extra ingredients I enjoy around the campfire.
Ingredients for this fire pit charcuterie board:
- Brie Cheese
- Baybel Cheese
- Grapes
- Figs
- Rosemary
- Crackers – just use your favorites!
- Proscuitto
- Fig Jam
- Peanuts
- Bread cut into slices and toasted

How to Make this Fire Pit Board
To make this board, you will need a medium board and a cast iron pan. Start by adding the ingredients to the pan including the brie, grapes, and figs. You can add the herbs that the beginning or partway through cooking.
Lay out the rest of the ingredients on the charcuterie board.
To roast the fire pit smores you can peel a baybel cheese and put it on a skewer over the fire. When it is starting to soften and melt- build your smore with bread, fig jam and the soft cheese.
Next, place the cast iron over the fire. You may need a grate or I used this tripod to cook it over the fire. Warm until the brie is soft and bubbly. Place the pan on the board (make sure you’ve got something on the board like a hot pad). Serve immediately by scooping the brie onto the bread and adding toppings.

Tips for Making this Fire Pit Board
This board is a bit more involved which can be fun around the fire pit. After making this board, here are a few things I recommend:
- Make sure people are ready to eat when the brie is not and hot – it tastes best this way
- Get long skewers to roast the baybel cheese
- You will need some knives, plates/napkins to serve and eat this as it can be messy
- Be careful with hot cheese!
