Why not get creative this Thanksgiving and make a fun and delicious Thanksgiving dessert charcuterie board. Collect your favorite desserts and pile them high on a board for an impressive showstopper to end the meal. This is a great way to share a variety of desserts beside the traditional pie (although why not add some mini-pies to the board for fun). I love adding some dried fruit and chocolate to make it easy for everyone to find something they like.
This board also makes a great fall dessert charcuterie board!
This is also a good way to serve up smaller bites after feeding everyone a huge meal.

Ingredients for a Thanksgiving Dessert Charcuterie Board
The best thing about making a dessert charcuterie board is that you can customize it in so many ways. You can change things based on dietary restrictions, food preferences or based on what you have available at your market. In the recipe below you can see exactly the ingredients we used for the board in these photos or select from the list below:
- Fresh Fruit: Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, apple slices, and orange segments
- Dipped Treats: Chocolate-covered pretzels, marshmallows, and strawberries
- Chocolates: Dark chocolate squares, milk chocolate truffles, white chocolate bark, and mini peanut butter cups
- Cookies and Biscuits: Macarons, mini brownies, shortbread, biscotti, and wafer rolls
- Candies: Gummy bears, jelly beans, caramels, and fudge squares
- Pastries: Mini cupcakes, eclairs, cream puffs, and mini tarts
- Nuts: Candied pecans, chocolate-covered almonds, and caramelized walnuts
- Dips and Spreads: Nutella, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and strawberry jam
- Other Sweet Additions: Marshmallows, mini meringues, and honey sticks
- Garnishes: Edible flowers, mint sprigs, or powdered sugar for extra flair
How to Assemble your Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board
This is the fun part! Since Thanksgiving is often a busy day I recommend making all the components in advance and simply taking a few moments to put together the board after dinner.
For this board I made mini-pies and pumpkin log cake in advance and then everything else was simply added to the board.
To create your board, start with your larger items and place them on the board. With the pumpkin log, I cut slices and lay these on the board in a wave pattern on the board.
Next place the rest of your ingredients on the board in piles or rows. Try to follow these simple rules:
- Break up items of the same color
- Break up items by size and shape
- Avoid putting items next to each other that don’t taste good or are liquid (for example, don’t put watermelon next to cake as it will make it all mushy)
