What is a Charcuterie Wine Topper?
A Charcuterie wine topper is a mini board or plate that sits on top on you wine glass. You can find a lots of options like these. Just make sure that the plate sits easily on top of your wine glass.
Think of it as a personal charcuterie board made just for one (or two) perched right on the rim of your glass for easy snacking.
You can find lots of options out there, from rustic wooden boards to sleek slate or marble pieces. Some are designed specifically for wine glasses, while others are small appetizer plates that work just as well. The key thing to look for is that the plate or board has a notch or groove cut into it so it sits securely on the rim of your glass without wobbling or tipping.
When loading yours up, stick to lighter, bite-sized items think a few slices of cured meat, a couple of crackers, a small wedge of cheese, some olives, or a handful of grapes. Since the board is small, less is more, and you want to keep it balanced so nothing slides off.
Wine toppers are perfect for entertaining because they make every guest feel like they have their own little spread. They’re also just a fun, elevated way to enjoy a glass of wine on your own, no extra plates required.
Fruit Wine Topper

Fruit is an easy way to make a wine topper. Select a few colorful and delicious types of fruit and fill your mini plate. You can also add a few sweet elements like a mini macaroon or piece of chocolate if you are serving it for dessert or keep it more savory with nuts. Here are some ideas for fruit for you fruit wine topper:
- Pears
- Grapes
- Berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc)
- Melon (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew)
- Kiwi
- Citrus (oranges, clementines, etc)
- Star Fruit
- Mango
- Papaya
- Pineapple
- Pomegranate
- Peaches and nectarines
To make you wine topper, either keep the fruit whole or cut it into small pieces. Pile your mini board high with the colorful fruit. You may want to pair your ingredients with your wine to take advantage of the flavors. Top your board with an edible flower.
Classic Charcuterie Wine Topper

Another option for making a wine top charcuterie board is to go a bit more classic. This means adding cheese and meat and a few pops of fruit flavor. For these mini charcuterie toppers, here’s what I used:
- Strawberries
- Rapsberries
- Grapes
- Proscuitto
- Salami
- Canteloupe
- Chocolate
- Coconut Cookie
To make this board start with a small skewer and add a mozzarella ball, cantaloupe ball and salami rose. Use this skewer as the center of your charcuterie wine topper and then add your fruit, chocolate cookie and psoscuitto. Serve cool!
Cheese Wine Topper

The final wine topper is focused on the cheese! Select some of your favorite cheese and cut small slices or chunks and add this to your board. Include a bit of salami and prosciutto and add raspberries for some color. Here are the ingredients I used:
- Proscuitto
- Raspberries
- Brie Cheese
- Gouda Cheese slice
- Mozzarella Balls
- 2 Pieces of Salami
Fold you salami into a salami rose and assemble all the ingredients on your mini charcuterie board wine topper.
Wine and Food Pairings
Another way to approach creating a wine topper charcuterie board is to consider the type or food that pairs best with the wine you are serving here are some general suggestions.
Red Wine Red wines pair beautifully with bold, savory flavors. Try loading your topper with aged cheddar, salami, prosciutto, Kalamata olives, and a few candied walnuts. Cabernet Sauvignon loves a sharp cheese and cured meat combo, while Pinot Noir is wonderful with brie, dried cranberries, and thin slices of turkey or ham.
White Wine White wines call for lighter, fresher bites. Pair a crisp Sauvignon Blanc with goat cheese, cucumber slices, and herbed crackers. Chardonnay is a natural match for creamy brie, smoked salmon, and green grapes. If you love a Pinot Grigio, try it with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and a drizzle of honey.
Rosé Rosé is one of the most versatile options and honestly one of the most fun to build a topper around. It pairs well with a little bit of everything — think strawberries, mild cheeses like gouda or havarti, roasted nuts, and light deli meats.
Sparkling Wine & Champagne Bubbles love salty and rich flavors. Top your glass with prosciutto, aged parmesan crisps, a small dollop of fig jam, and a few raspberries for a pairing that feels truly celebratory.
Sweet Wine For a dessert-style topper, pair a Moscato or Riesling with blue cheese, honey, dried apricots, and dark chocolate pieces. The contrast of sweet wine with tangy or salty bites is absolutely irresistible.
